Reflection. I have to admit that the reflection in the mirror in the morning ain’t all that pretty. If I’m truly honest, it ain’t that pretty when I fix myself up either. Our reflection tells us a lot about ourselves. When we look in the mirror we often see all the blemishes and faults looking back at us instead of the things God sees in us.
Yesterday we looked at Jesus Christ as the exact imprint of the Father. We saw that he was not a reflection of God’s glory but was the same glory that the Father was, that’s what made Him an imprint. As Christians, we are commanded to reflect the glory of God by how we live our our lives. We are to reflect the light of Jesus Christ.
Jesus gave us the instruction to be a light so that people see us and glorify the Father: “Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” - Matthew 5:15-16.
Do the people we come across day in and day out whether at work or just when we are out and about see God in our lives? Do they see the reflection of His light? When we look in the mirror do we see only our flaws or do we see the glory of God reflecting from within us? God wants us to draw others to Him because we let our lights shine.
Have a great day and God bless. The
