Be Different

Be different!  We celebrate differences between people. The color of our skin, our nationalities, our sexes, and our handicaps. Everyone is different in some way from everybody else and that’s okay. It would be a very boring world if we were all the same. But God didn’t create robots to just follow programmed orders, He created individuals that have a free will to think and do as they see fit.

But when we become Christians, God has a new set of standards that He sets for us based upon His Word and we are no longer to live like the rest of the world. The world will never lead people to salvation, it will lead them to the falsehood that living good will be good enough. That is the lie of Satan because he is the current prince of this world. But the King of kings wants us to live differently.

Paul told the Ephesians the following: “Now this I say and testify in the Lord, that you must no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds. They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to their hardness of heart.  They have become callous and have given themselves up to sensuality, greedy to practice every kind of impurity.  But that is not the way you learned Christ!” - Ephesians 4:17-20.

We are to be different than the unbelievers because they don’t know any better and we do. Their heart has been hardened and calloused by this world. Our eyes have been opened to the truth and we should live like we now know it.

Paul continued: “assuming that you have heard about him and were taught in him, as the truth is in Jesus, to put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.” - Ephesians 4:21-24.

Live differently. Be different. Not because of pride but out of humility of knowing the truth.

Have a great day and God bless.
