Home

Home. Dorothy just wanted to go back home. She just wanted to get back to Kansas. She wanted to get back so bad that she followed the yellow brick road all the way to Oz in hopes that the Great and Powerful Wizard could grant her that wish. With the help of the Cowardly Lion, the Scarecrow and the Tin Man, she made it to Oz and ultimately made it home. It’s a great feeling to make it home.

Every year, my family and I travel north to visit my family for Thanksgiving. It’s always great to see them and spend time with them since it only happens once a year, but there is nothing like the feeling you get when you make it home.

As Christians, we long for going home. Not this place called earth and not this short period of time we call life, we long for our eternal home with Christ. This life we now live here on earth is just a vapor of time in comparison to spending eternity with God. That hope that we have allows us to endure the trials and tribulations of this world because we know it is just temporary.

“So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight.  Yes, we are of good courage, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord.  So whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to please Him” - 2 Corinthians 5:6-9. This world is not our home, we are just passing through on our way to glory.

“But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared for them a city.” - Hebrews 11:16.  Do you desire a better home?  Are you not ashamed to call God your God?  He has prepared a place for those that are His children, a place we can call “home”.

Have a great day and God bless.
