Boring

Boooooooring!  Ever had one of those teachers in school or maybe a lecturer at a work conference that was so monotone and boring that you had to fight to stay awake?  Makes you wonder why they even do what they do for a living if they can’t be somewhat excited about there job. How can you not show enthusiasm for something that you spend most of your waking day doing?  Really makes you look at them and wonder why they even do it.

I bet non-Christians look at us sometimes and see how unenthusiastic we take being a Christian and wonder why they would even want to be like us. There are some Christians that make you wonder why they have no joy in their lives and how they could be so bored with life. If anyone should be excited about life, it should be us!!!  We have been given a new life in Christ and we should be shouting about it from the rooftops. People should look at us and say, “wow! I want what he/she is having!”

But too often we portray this mundane and monotone lifestyle that doesn’t attract anyone to want to have what we have. I’m not saying we should be out partying it up, but we should be living life with some excitement. Our sins have been paid for!  We once were dead but now we are alive!  Isn’t that what the father of the prodigal son said?  People should look at us and know who we are: Christians!

“But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us ALIVE together with Christ-by grace you have been saved” - Ephesians 2:4-5. He made us alive to show that Christ too is alive. We don’t serve a dead Savior, we serve a Savior who is ALIVE!  We should also be alive in how we live our lives. Don’t be a boring Christian, show the people around you that you are alive because your Savior is alive!
