Tomorrow

Tomorrow. Why do we put so much faith in tomorrow?  Why do we put of things we should do today and things we should say today off until tomorrow?  What’s so special about tomorrow that we have to leave such important tasks for just one day?  I don’t know about you, but I’m guilty of depending on tomorrow way too much. Whether it’s work related or personal, tomorrow seems to be our best friend. What happens if tomorrow doesn’t come?

The Bible makes it very clear that we are not promised another tomorrow, “Come now, you who say, ‘Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit’ - yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes.” - James 4:13-14. I think about those that will go to bed tonight with plans of doing something important tomorrow, yet will not wake up to see it through.

Life is precious, life short, and life is unpromised. Our lives could end at any time, either by death or the Lord’s return (I pray it’s the second one). We should take better advantage of today; to do and say the things we promise we’ll do tomorrow. “Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.” - Proverbs 27:1. Is there something you should do today before it’s too late?  Is there something you should tell someone today before it’s too late?  Only you can answer that.

Have a great day and God bless.
