Inspection

Inspection. One part of this whole home buying process is the inspection of homes. When you buy a new home you make sure you get someone to perform a home inspection on your behalf to make sure everything is sound with the home. Most of us are not well versed enough to do it on our own so we pay someone else that does inspections for a living to do it for us. We make every effort to make sure that what we are putting an investment into is sound and not going to fall apart when we buy it.

We should put just as much effort into inspecting our own lives like we do our homes. The great thing is that we are experts on our lives because nobody knows us better than we do, except God. We don’t have to hire and expert to inspect our lives, God gave us His Word to use to inspect how we are living according to what He seeks from us.

“But if we judged ourselves truly, we would not be judged.” - 1 Corinthians 11:31. The Bible instructs is to judge ourselves, to inspect our own lives, so that we can see where we fall short of God’s commands and then ask Him to change our hearts to match His. If we judge ourselves in that way, God will not have to pronounce judgement on us later.

“If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” - 1 John 1:8. The worse thing we can do is pretend we have no sin. We are all sinners by nature and God still loves us. We need to be honest with ourselves and inspect our own lives frequently. We don’t need to worry about inspecting the lives of others, we have enough to worry about in our own house. Take time to regularly inspect your private lives like you would if you were inspecting a home. Your life is so much more valuable than a home will ever be.

Have a great day and God bless.
