Home Makeover

Home makeover. We’ve spent the last 15+ years remodeling an old farmhouse that I bought before we were married. It’s been a painstaking task as we’ve pretty much done one room at a time as we have had the money to do so. But, it’s also been great to see the changes and have the ability to somewhat make the changes to fit our needs. It has not always been fun living in the house while we have been making the renovations, but it’s been nice seeing how the house has improved.

We have two upcoming renovations in our future lives. Our mortal bodies will be renovated into glorious immortal bodies and this old earth will be renovated into a New Earth. I am so looking forward to both renovations.

“For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality. When the perishable puts on the imperishable, and the mortal puts on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written: "Death is swallowed up in victory."  “O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?"  - 1 Corinthians 15:53-55. What a glorious day it shall be when this old sinful body will be changed into a sinless body to forever be with the Lord.

“Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more.” - Revelation 21:1. “But according to his promise we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.” - 2 Peter 3:13. This earth that we currently live on will be burned up with fire and restored to its original state as a New Earth with a beautiful city in it called the New Jerusalem where God will reside with man.

Are you looking forward to the renovations that are to come?  First our bodies and then our home. There will be no time and energy that we will have to put into those renovation projects, they will all be completed by the Savior.
