Black and white. For the most part, we like things in the world to be black or white, right or wrong. It helps us to better understand our world, but when the lines between black and white begin to blur, that’s usually when the trouble starts. Grey areas tend to be the areas where division starts and wars begin.
God and His Word are definitely black and white. What He says is truth Is truth, and what He says is sin is sin. We get into trouble when we start to question His truth by making comments like “that was only during Bible times and doesn’t apply today”. It is also a mistake to try to take God’s Word and interpret it to make it fit into the lifestyle we want it to fit in. I see it quite often in the news that people want to say if Jesus was here today He would support this or that.
Jesus definitely loves people wherever they are at in life but He definitely doesn’t love the sin they are living in. The woman at the well, the woman caught in adultery, and the Pharisees in the Temple. He loved them all but told them to repent from their sin. Things were black and white with Christ and there was no grey. “This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.” - 1 John 1:5.
Satan is the master of blurring the lines between black and white. It started in the Garden of Eden with Adam and Eve. “Now the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the LORD God had made. He said to the woman, "Did God actually say, 'You shall not eat of any tree in the garden'?" - Genesis 3:1. See how he took what God used as a black and white statement and turned it into a great area by using their doubt in what God actually said? He made them use their own judgement of the Word of God to cause them to sin.
Don’t fall for the grey of this world that wants to blur the lines of God’s black and white Word. What God says in His Holy Word is the Truth and not up to our interpretation. Live by His Word and don’t fall victim to the lies of the devil’s grey areas.
Have a great day and God bless.
